Delete Your Account

There's no in-app "Delete account" button yet, so email info@bearacle.com with the subject "Delete my Gotta Go account", from the address your account uses so we can tell it is you. We confirm by reply, then delete — normally within 30 days.

Signed in with Apple using Hide My Email? Write from the private relay address Apple gave you — it reaches us the same way, and it is the address on your account.

What happens to each kind of data

Your account and email address

Deleted. The sign-in stops working immediately and cannot be recovered.

Toilets and ratings you contributed

Kept, as shared map data. They were never shown with your name or email attached, so there is nothing more to detach — a toilet you added stays up for everyone else, the same way a correction made to OpenStreetMap itself outlives the account that made it. If you want a specific listing removed rather than your account deleted, do that from within the app instead: it stays open to you as long as the app has it recorded as one you added.

Anything cached on your device

Unaffected by account deletion. Clear it by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling.

If you only want a copy, or a correction

You do not have to delete everything to exercise your rights. Email the same address and ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or for us to restrict how we use it. See the Privacy Policy (iOS) or Privacy Policy (Android) for the full list.
