Delete Account
How to delete your Deutsch Dojo account and practice history
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app:
Open Deutsch Dojo and tap your profile picture in the top-right corner
Tap Delete account at the bottom of the account panel
Confirm on the warning screen — your data is deleted straight away
If you can no longer sign in
If you have uninstalled the app or lost access to your Google account, email us instead and we will delete your account for you and confirm within 30 days. Please write from the address you signed in with, so we can tell which account is yours.
Email a deletion requestOpens your email app with the request ready to send.
What gets deleted
We permanently remove the following from our systems:
- Your account and sign-in record, including your name, email address, and avatar
- Your player profile and display name
- Every exam attempt, email trainer round, and game result you have saved
- The text you wrote for the Schreiben, Sprechen, and email tasks, and the examiner feedback on it
- Your entries on the leaderboard
This cannot be undone. Your scores and progress cannot be restored afterwards, and deleting your account also removes your history from the Deutsch Dojo web trainer, because both use the same account.
What is kept
Aggregated, anonymous statistics that can no longer be linked to you may be retained for analysis of exam difficulty. We may also keep a minimal record of your deletion request itself, where we are required to do so by law.
Deleting your Deutsch Dojo account does not affect your Google account. It only removes the profile and results we hold, and the link between them and your Google identity.
Data on your device
Your language choice, theme preference, cached results, and sign-in session are stored on your phone. Signing out clears your session, and uninstalling the app removes the rest.
You may not need to delete anything
If your concern is appearing under your real name, open the account sheet in the app and switch your profile to anonymous. Your name and avatar are replaced with an alias everywhere other players can see, and your progress is kept.
If you would rather keep your history but step away for a while, you can simply sign out instead — signing back in with the same Google account restores everything.
