Fuel Meter (Гориво Метар) Android Application

Effective Date: August 26, 2026

Fuel Meter, released as Гориво Метар (Gorivo Metar), is published by Bearacle LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information when you use it on Android.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. The Short Version

Fuel Meter shows publicly published fuel prices. There is nothing personal in it, so there is very little to collect:

  • There are no accounts. You never sign up, sign in, or give us a name or an email address.
  • We do not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or profiling software of any kind.
  • We do not sell or share information with anyone for advertising.
  • Your location, if you allow it, is used on your device and is never sent to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, browsing history, advertising identifier, or any other personal identifier. The app contains no sign-in of any kind and creates no user profile.

3. Location

The map screen can sort filling stations by how close they are to you. When you open the map, Android asks for permission to use your approximate location. If you allow it, your position is read on your device, used to order the list and centre the map, and then discarded.

Your location is never transmitted to us, never stored, and never shared. If you decline, everything else in the app works exactly as before — the station list is simply not sorted by distance.

4. Price Alerts and Push Notifications

If you turn on price alerts, your device registers a push notification token with Expo's push service, and we store that token so we can send you a notification when a new price decision is published.

A push token identifies a device installation, not a person. It is not linked to a name, an email address, or any account, because there are none. The tokens are held in a database table that is closed to public reads, and are used for one purpose only: sending price-change notifications.

You can stop this at any time by turning notifications off for the app in your Android settings, or by uninstalling the app. See our Delete Your Data page if you would like the stored token removed.

5. Information the App Reads

The app downloads public, non-personal data in order to work:

  • Current and historical fuel prices, taken from the published decisions of the Energy Regulatory Commission of North Macedonia
  • Filling station locations, taken from OpenStreetMap
  • Map tiles used to draw the map

These are ordinary network requests. Like any request over the internet, the servers involved can see the IP address the request came from. We do not build profiles from this and we do not log it for that purpose.

6. Data Stored on Your Device

The app keeps a copy of the most recently downloaded prices and stations on your device, so that it still works when you have no signal. This copy stays on your device, is not personal, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

7. Service Providers

We use a small number of third parties to operate the app:

  • Supabase — hosts the price and station database the app reads from, and the push token table.
  • Expo — delivers push notifications, if you have enabled price alerts.
  • OpenFreeMap — serves the map.

OpenFreeMap

The map on Android is drawn from OpenStreetMap vector tiles served by OpenFreeMap. Loading a map tile is an ordinary web request, so OpenFreeMap can see your IP address and which tiles you asked for, in the same way any website you visit can. We send it nothing else, and it requires no key or account.

8. Children

Fuel Meter is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It contains no advertising, no user-generated content, and no messaging.

9. Your Rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to look up, correct, export, or erase. The one exception is a push notification token, if you have enabled price alerts — you can have it deleted by turning notifications off, by uninstalling the app, or by writing to us.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you retain your rights under the GDPR and may contact us about them at any time.

10. Data Security

All communication between the app and our services uses encrypted connections. The push token table is protected so that it cannot be read publicly, because a token is enough for whoever holds it to send a notification to that device.

11. International Use

The app is intended for use in North Macedonia. Our service providers operate in the European Union and the United States, so the limited technical data described above may be processed in those regions.

12. Accuracy of Prices

Prices in the app are the maximum retail prices published by the Energy Regulatory Commission. They are indicative and provided for information only. Always check the price displayed at the filling station itself.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
